Stratford & St. Marys Engagement Photos — An Exclusive Farm With a Daffodil Forest

Unique Engagement Photo Spot Near Stratford & St. Marys
Our Exclusive Farm and Daffodil Forest
This spring, I photographed Will and Lisa’s engagement session here on my family's farm, located in Southwestern Ontario near Exeter, St. Marys, Mitchell, and Stratford. When you have photos taken on private property, it means no other photographers, no other sessions happening nearby, and no unexpected crowds or distractions. The backdrop to your photos is unique, parking is easy, and it’s a great for bringing along your doggo(s) with lots of safe space to explore. (Bring all the doggos please!)
Will and Lisa met at a mutual friend's wedding, and they love being active together, from rock climbing to biking. They enjoy travelling (Will proposed in Mexico!), and they honeymooned in New Zealand.
Will and Lisa visited the farm in April, just as the fields were starting to green up. We began on the laneway lined with maples at golden hour (my favourite time of day), and a perfect spot for couples looking for Engagement photo ideas near Stratford or natural outdoor settings close to Exeter, Mitchell or St. Mary's.
Our next stop was a small forest we call Margaret’s Garden. My partner’s grandmother, Margaret, planted hundreds of daffodils here decades ago, and each spring they return blanketing the forest floor. It’s a stunning, meaningful location and one of my favourite spots for spring engagement photos in Perth County.
Next we headed to the pasture that was set aside for bird habitat nearly twenty years ago. It’s open and peaceful, and on clear evenings the low sunset creates a soft backlit glow, or stunning colourful sunsets on cloudy days, ideal for couples wanting nature filled engagement photos. Finally, we wrapped up the session in a section of the forest which was covered in blooming trilliums.
The whole session was relaxed and unhurried, thanks to the privacy and calm of the farm. If you’re looking for exclusive engagement photo locations near Exeter, Mitchell, St. Mary's or Stratford, and you want a countryside session with no crowds, no competing photographers, and room for furbabies, this corner of Ontario is a beautiful place to begin.
